Vertical blinds are generally chosen for homes due to their soft looks and their low maintenance. However, just because these blinds are low maintenance does not mean that they do not need to be cleaned regularly. Here are a few ways to clean your vertical blinds:
Your vertical blinds need to be dusted daily to get rid of the excess dust. If you do not dust your blinds daily, it could cause allergies to flare up. In order to efficiently perform regular maintenance on your vertical blinds, you should use a large duster and brush the dirt off them working from the top to the bottom of each individual panel.
If you do not like using a duster to clean your blinds or you want to go over the blinds again after using the duster, you could use a vacuum. This technique works in a similar way to dusting; using the brush attachment, vacuum the panels of the vertical blinds, moving from top to bottom. The brush attachment is necessary for vacuuming as it will stop the harsh suction of the vacuum from damaging the blinds.
Stain or spot removal is completed with a microfiber cloth and slightly soapy water. Soak the cloth in the soapy water and wring it out before wiping the vertical blinds. Find the spot that you want to remove and use the microfiber cloth to saturate it. Try not to rub the fabric. Clean the soap by wiping it with a damp cloth. You should wring the cloth and repeat the process a few times to ensure that the soap is removed.
